Project Overview
This project involved finishing an unfinished basement to create additional usable living space within the home. The goal was to make the space comfortable, well-lit, and suitable for everyday use while addressing moisture control, insulation, and code requirements.
The finished basement now functions as a flexible extension of the home, providing space for relaxing, working, and storage.
The Challenge
The basement was unfinished, with exposed framing, limited lighting, and uneven temperatures. Moisture control, insulation, and ceiling height considerations needed to be addressed before finishing could begin.
Our Approach
We began by addressing insulation, moisture protection, and layout planning to ensure the space would remain comfortable year-round. Framing and drywall were installed to define rooms and improve flow, followed by flooring, lighting, and finishing details.
Throughout the project, materials were selected for durability and ease of maintenance, with careful attention to building codes and safety requirements.
The Result
The completed basement is bright, comfortable, and fully integrated with the rest of the home. The finished space provides valuable additional square footage while maintaining a clean, functional design that can adapt to different uses over time.
